Visit the beautiful Byodo-In Temple
At the base of the Ko'olau Mountains in the Valley of the Temples, the Byodo-In Temple shines as a precious gem in the Pacific. Designed after the renowned Byodo-In Temple in Uji, Japan, this non-practicing Buddhist temple symbolizes the deep cultural ties between Hawaiʻi and Japan.
Surrounded by lush greenery and the peaceful sounds of a koi pond, it offers a serene escape from the bustling heart of Honolulu. The temple's centerpiece, the Phoenix Hall, houses a magnificent 9-foot Buddha statue, faithfully recreating the intricate design and spiritual essence of its Japanese inspiration. Visiting the Byodo-In Temple is a voyage into a world of tranquility and enduring cultural legacy.
We Stop At The Best Spots
See the top sites all over the island. Your knowledgeable local guides will get you to the best locations stress-free. Along the way, they will "talk story" about these areas' cultural significance and some local legends. Visit the spectacular Halona Blowhole, South Oʻahu Lookouts, a tropical farm, parks, Pali Lookout, and Byodo-in Temple.
Drive through the famous North Shore town of Haleʻiwa. You'll feel the surf vibe and see the galleries featuring local artisans' works and street art adorning its buildings. Not to be missed is the Dole Plantation, where you can experience part of Hawaiʻi's agricultural heritage. The famous Dole Whip is a signature Hawai'i treat! There are plenty of amazing photo ops on this tour.
Choose Your Own Meals Local-Style
No box or pre-made lunches here! We take you to the top trending spots on the North Shore for a great food experience. During Hawaii’s sugar era, Kahuku was once a booming agricultural hub thanks to the Kahuku Sugar Mill. Our lunchtime at the Kahuku Sugar Mill allows you to take in all the sights, smells, and shopping you will want to do on your vacation. In Kahuku, you will find streets lined with the North Shore’s famous shrimp trucks, local farmstands, and colorful shops to tour. Enjoy the famous Fumi's Kahuku Shrimp and try a Kalo Bomb for dessert. Make sure to visit Kahuku hungry!

Description
Join us on the most complete tour of O'ahu and see all the best that the island has to offer! This tour occurs in a variety of routes depending on the guide, Honolulu traffic, and even the weather! Your local driver and guide will make sure you enjoy all the best sites and stops that day.
In many cases, after pickup from the airport or a location at or near your Waikīkī hotel, your guide will then head to historic downtown Honolulu. It has been the center of power in the Hawaiian Islands for a long time. We’ll stop to see the King Kamehameha the Great statue, which is covered in gold and wrapped in leis.
From here, we will head out to the North Shore and stop at the Dole Plantation for a mid-morning treat and a bit of relaxation in the gardens.
Your guide will share wonderful stories, offer little tips, point out features, and outline historical events as we cruise across the island to the North Shore. We will drive through quaint North Shore towns and past famous beaches, stopping at various areas where available. Donʻt worry—from your elevated, comfortable seat, you will get some of the best views available on the road at places where we are not able to let guests disembark.
Our morning continues, wrapping around the North Shore. We will stop at various places, but the main lunch spot is in Kahuku, an old sugar mill that has turned into a great place to stop, shop, and eat. Clean bathrooms and great food await. We will give you time to explore and choose from some of the great options. There is no “box lunch” on this trip. Get out and support the local small chefs who are creating amazing dishes!
Once the group finishes, the tour continues down the leeward side of the island at a leisurely pace. The roads are small and right at the ocean, so sit back and relax to enjoy the coastal views. We will perk you up again soon with a stop at a beautiful oceanside park followed by a macadamia and tropical fruit farm. Get some coffee or other drinks to prepare you for the next amazing stop.
One of our favorite stops on the complete tour is the Byodo-In Temple. A recreation of a 600-year-old temple in Japan. This serene setting is a great place to quietly relax. A nice change of pace if your vacation and life have been hectic. This is also a great reminder of the many cultures that make up the island of Oʻahu. Your guide will tell you all about it with great personal stories.
The day is not over yet! A visit to one of the historically important places with one of the best views in the islands is up next. Nuʻuanu Pali Overlook holds a rich history and was the location where a great battle was fought, uniting the islands under Kamehameha the Great.
From this vantage point, we can see our next stop, along the leeward coast, near a lighthouse. We will make our way around the southern tip of Oʻahu, stopping at various lookouts, checking out the Halona Blowhole, and taking in the views of the city before returning to Waikīkī around Diamond Head.
