Big Island Ocean Activities & Tours
Discover Your Perfect Big Island Ocean Adventures
Daytime and manta ray snorkeling, exciting watersports, and fun ocean activities!
You’ve come to the right place for all the best ocean activities on the Big Island. One of the most exciting experiences is to be in the ocean with Manta Rays. These gentle giants get up close and personal during night snorkel tours, and there’s nothing quite like it anywhere else on earth. What a fantastic gift idea for a special someone! Evening cruises include all the gear you need plus refreshments.
Humpback whales, dolphins, sea turtles, and more make for some great photo ops on a family-friendly whale watching cruise off the Kona Coast. The crew knows just where to look so that you won’t miss any splashdowns.
A variety of daytime snorkel trips will have you swimming among the diverse fish and colorful coral in the pristine waters off the Kona coast. A traditional outrigger canoe ride will take you back to the days of old Polynesia, or perhaps you prefer to book a private fishing boat where you keep what you catch. All gear comes included, but bring your camera for “the big catch” bragging rights.
Stand-up paddleboarding or kayaking on the Umauma River features a picnic lunch and plenty of time to go for a refreshing swim in the cool waterfall and crystal pools. Whatever you choose, nothing says Hawaii like spending time in (and on) the water.
We love the ocean, and Big Island holds some of our most favorite activities. First, we recommend going on a manta ray snorkel or dive. Itʻs the only place in Hawaii you can experience this. The Kona coast also has many Hawaiian spinner dolphins, so you should see them if you go out on a morning snorkel tour.
Snorkeling along the Kona coast is magnificent. The clear waters and abundance of fish make for a beautiful swim. Go on some deluxe tours that will take you to multiple snorkeling spots for a wider variety of underwater experiences. Try the SNUBA too!
One of the most extraordinary things to do in the ocean off the Kona coast is to snorkel or dive with Manta Rays. These harmless creatures are attracted to the lights shining in the water. Then, when they come to feed, they brush you as they pass by. Itʻs a fantastic feeling.
We encourage every guest to get out in the water. Go with a guide or rent some gear and tackle the waves on your own. Rent SUPs, kayaks, or go on a paddle in an outrigger canoe ride. We want you to enjoy the beaches, rivers, waterfalls, and more.
Check out all our ocean activities and let us know what you want to do. We are adding new ocean activities all the time so check back with this list as you get closer to your vacation times. Remember, the most popular tours will sell out before you arrive in Hawaii.
