Do you find yourself wide awake at 5 AM, still on mainland time? Well, this tour is the perfect solution for you! We’ll be hitting the beach while most visitors are still in bed so you can enjoy the peace and solitude of a Hawaiian sunrise. And, you won’t have to struggle to keep other visitors out of your photos. Simply put, you can enjoy this special time and take some deep, relaxing breaths to start your day.
Makapu'u Point Lookout sits at O'ahu's southeastern tip, just off Kalanianaole Highway. It features an overlook with stunning views of Makapu'u Beach Park, sea cliffs, Rabbit Island (also known as Manana Island), and Kaohikaipu Island. Halona Blowhole was created by volcanic activity thousands of years ago and now sporadically shoots seawater up to 30 feet in the air when waves pass through the underwater lava tubes. From the viewing point, visitors can enjoy a stunning vista of Halona Cove, a picturesque beach showcased in numerous movies and music videos.
A Malasada is a Portuguese doughnut without a hole. Leonard’s pastry chefs fry generously sized balls of dough until they're golden brown on the outside and light and fluffy on the inside. Then, the pastry can be filled with any number of delicious ingredients like custard, chocolate, or haupia (coconut)
Leonard’s began making malasadas as part of the Portuguese tradition for Shrove Tuesday in 1953. Now, they are made continuously every day. Leonard’s is Hawaiʻi’s original malasada bakery.
All malasadas are made with a special dough using the finest ingredients. They're ʻOno, as we say in Hawaiʻi.
