Description
Experience a side of Kauaʻi few visitors ever get to see on the Kilohana Crater Expedition, a guided off-road adventure through the private backcountry surrounding the historic Kilohana Plantation. Your journey takes you beyond the plantation through fruit orchards, fern valleys, forested trails, historic plantation roads, and open pastureland where cattle graze.
Along the way, your local guide shares stories about Kauaʻi’s ranching and plantation era, along with info about native plants, local history, culture, and movie filming locations in the area. The expedition also includes access to the historic grounds of the Iliahi Estate, tucked into the lush mountains above Kilohana. The highlight of the adventure is the ride up to the rim of Kilohana Crater, where you can enjoy an amazing 360-degree view across Kauaʻi. On the return journey, take in sweeping views toward Kalapaki Bay and Hāʻupu Mountain. The expedition uses 2026/2027 Kawasaki MULE PRO-FXT UTVs designed to comfortably carry multiple passengers through rugged terrain.
