Arizona Memorial And Bowfin Submarine Features
Arizona Memorial
A visit to the Arizona memorial is something that everyone who goes to Oʻahu should do. The immensity of the ship and the reality of what happened at this very spot so many years ago hit home in a way that they can't from just reading about the events in a book. It's a moving experience.
Step back in time and get up close to this incredible moment in time. The enormity of the loss, of the impact, is something that can really change a person's perspective. You deserve to see this for yourself, and the world needs to remember what it represents.
Pacific Fleet Museum
The Pacific Fleet Museum is dedicated to the Silent Service, the submariners throughout history who fought and died for the country. It highlights the innovations we have made over the years from the first submarines during the civil war to the high-tech nuclear submarines of today.
World War II marked a tremendous period of change for wartime technology, and you will really feel that as you see all of the developments that were made. Take in the fascinating designs and innovative tricks that were created during the fight to win the largest war in human history.
Pearl Harbor Visitors Center
The visitor center has a lot of great exhibits, a gift shop, a food stand, and more. Take time to explore the two World War II museums. They have a lot of great examples, pictures, charts, and items. Use the APP to learn site details when you are exploring on your own.
There is no better place to get information, and as is always the case, your guide can be a font of information too. Ask questions when you need to, though please do keep to a respectful volume.
VR and Audio/Video Guides
Use a VR headset and see Pearl Harbor from new perspectives. You get to choose what you want to see and experience. This tour also includes access to the local APP which provides in-depth information, audio clips videos, and more.
This innovative technology is just one of the new features of the museum, but it is one of the most effective at letting you experience the history of Pearl Harbor directly. Put the headset on, and be spirited back to the past!
USS Bowfin Submarine
You will be able to board the submarine that was launched exactly 1-year after the Pearl Harbor Attack. Named the Avenger, it went on to fight and survive World War II. The submarine is docked right within Pearl Harbor, and you can go through it multiple times.
Nothing will make you feel like you've stepped into history quite like this, even considering all of the other features of the museum. Put yourself inside of the not-too-distant past, and let yourself be captivated by the awe that will overtake you.
Historic Honolulu
This tour includes a stop in downtown Honolulu. This historic area is home to the only royal palace on American soil and a statue dedicated to the first King of Hawaiʻi Kamehameha The Great. You may also recognize this area from popular TV shows.
Not as somber as Pearl Harbor, but just as rich in history, Honolulu is a gorgeous city to explore. Get a feel for the local culture, maybe even some local cuisine while you're at it, and have a blast exploring!
Punchbowl Crater
With commanding views of the city, Punchbowl provides guests with a solemn visit to an extinct volcano. Now a national cemetery, it's a place with many stories, beautiful scenery, and touching monuments. It is a must-see for any visitor.

Local Guided Small Group Tour Guide
Description
We begin the day by picking you up from your accommodation in Waikīkī or nearby. Your guide will have already contacted you with the estimated time and meeting point, possibly even sending a text showing their exact location. You'll be greeted with a warm smile and aloha. Feel free to ask any questions throughout the tour.
On this small group tour, we'll travel through the city and head straight to Pearl Harbor. Your guide will provide your tickets and, if desired, an audio guide, along with instructions on how to make the most of the Arizona Memorial Program. You'll have time to explore until it's time to board the boat.
The experience on the Arizona Memorial is solemn, as it serves as a war grave for many. We observe respectful silence during our visit, and you can use the audio guide to learn about the significance of the memorial.
After returning to shore, we'll walk along the coast, exploring pathways lined with various historical exhibits and items. Take your time to capture photos and deepen your understanding of World War II as we make our way to the Pacific Fleet Submarine Museum and the USS Bowfin.
Explore artifacts from our nation's submarine fleet and hear stories of heroism, triumph, and occasional misadventures. Outside the museum, there's a covered courtyard with seating and food options, offering a pleasant view of the harbor. The outdoor exhibits are designed to be engaging for children, who are encouraged to interact with them.

While sandals and flip-flops are permitted, we encourage you to wear closed-toe shoes as there is a lot of walking when visiting the sites. In addition, we recommend visitors avoid skirts and dresses as well as high heels.
No bags are allowed for security reasons, and iPad cases or clutch wallets are not permitted either — a wallet must be no larger than a regular-sized cell phone. The bag storage facility can store your belongings for a fee of $7.00 per bag or $10.00 per bag for more oversized luggage.
Thank you for helping us maintain a respectful and secure environment for all visitors.
It must be a clear bag approved by the US Navy, like the ones pictured below, and measure no more than 1.25" x 2.25" x 5.5".
*Note: Infrequently, due to circumstances beyond our control, the Navy may suspend boat operations to the USS Arizona Memorial, or they may need to restrict boat capacity. In these cases, we may place you in a standby line. We cannot offer refunds in this situation and apologize in advance should this occur. You would still be able to visit the exhibits, the Visitors’ Center, and other park monuments.
