Description
The Surfrider Foundation Kauai Beach Cleanups offer an easy and impactful way for residents and visitors to help protect the island’s beaches. These regular volunteer events are part of a larger effort to keep Kauaʻi’s shoreline free from trash, plastic, and other debris that mar the landscape and endanger the local wildlife.
Volunteers meet at designated beach locations, where Surfrider provides all the necessary tools, including gloves, bags, and litter pickers. After a brief introduction and safety instructions, volunteers begin combing the beach for debris, focusing on items that are harmful to both the environment and wildlife. These cleanups not only help improve the health of the beaches but also raise awareness about environmental stewardship.
This family-friendly event welcomes participants of all ages and backgrounds. Whether you're visiting the island or a local resident, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to a cleaner, healthier Kauaʻi while enjoying its beautiful beaches. Volunteering with Surfrider is also a great way to meet new people, get outside, and do something positive for the planet.
