Visit a Private 1,000-acre Chocolate Farm and Rainbow Falls
Join an immersive tree-to-chocolate experience, exploring the journey of cacao trees as they become chocolate at a 1,000-acre private tropical farm, and then visit the beautiful Rainbow Falls in Hilo. Rainbow Falls plunges 80 feet over a lava cave, which, according to Hawaiian legends, serves as the dwelling of Hina, the ancient goddess of the moon.
The Legends of Pele
Your Certified Guide will “talk story” - sharing some local legends about Hawaii’s most revered goddess, Madame (or Tutu) Pele. Pele is the Hawaiian goddess of volcanoes and fire. Otherwise known as Pelehonuamea, “She who shapes the sacred land,” Pele sends rivers of lava down the mountainside, devouring small towns and entire forests - while creating new land. Hearing the fascinating legends of Hawaii helps visitors understand and respect the local culture. You will enjoy easy-to-moderate hiking around the park’s dynamic terrain and even visit a lava tube!
