In this national park, distinct from any other in the world, we will visit unique and incredible locations forged by the volcanic powers below us. See Halema’uma’u Crater, volcanic steam vents, the educational Kilauea Visitor Center, and go into the Thurston Lava Tube. Have a look at the Volcano House, where views of the crater are transformational.
We will even drive down the Chain of Craters Road to see some of the landscape devastated by these forces at Kilauea ‘Iki Overlook, Kealakomo Overlook, and Devastation Trail.
As we head back to Hilo, you will see the famous Rainbow Falls, a twin cascading 80-foot waterfall. There will be options to stop at a Big Island snack spot to grab a locally-made treat for now and a sweet snack to enjoy while sightseeing the historic area around Hilo. There will be a little time to relax in a beautiful tropical garden or at a black sand beach! There is a lot to see.
Some of the most well-known legends surrounding Hawai‘i involve volcanoes. Your pilot, over the 45-minute flight, will share some of these legends and how they are an integral part of the culture. The Kilauea Visitor Center has park updates and fascinating educational displays. We will share the story and show you where the 2018 eruption occurred that drastically altered the island’s landscape. Peer into the depths of Halemaumau Crater which has doubled in size and watch steam clouds form as groundwater seeps onto hot volcanic rock at the famous Steam Vents. We will also drive down the scenic Chain of Craters Road – partially covered during the 2018 eruption. We will even walk through a lava tube in the middle of a native rainforest.
We even take you on a tour of Hilo Town, including Banyan Drive, Richardson’s Black Sand Beach, and Liliuokalani Gardens. You will marvel at the spectacular Rainbow Falls and gaze at sweeping coastal views of Kealakomo Overlook, where older lava flows melted into the ocean.

Combined Weight Limit: To ensure a safe and comfortable flight for everyone, an additional comfort seat is required for any passenger weighing 240 lbs or more, or when two passengers traveling together have a combined weight of 420 lbs or more.
We will no longer provide car seats for children on our Big Island tours. Guests traveling with young children must bring their own car seats.
Refund & Cancellation Policy
Tours that include interisland airfare from Maui, Oʻahu, or Kauaʻi are refundable only if the optional Trip Protection ($20 per person) is purchased at the time of booking. To qualify for a refund or approved date change, guests must notify us at least 7 days prior to the scheduled tour date. Cancellations outside of 7 days will be charged a $25 Administrative Fee.
If Trip Protection is not purchased during checkout, all bookings are considered final sale. No refunds will be issued for cancellations, modifications, or no-shows after purchase. Any approved changes to tour dates or itineraries without Trip Protection may be subject to applicable rescheduling fees.

By booking a tour that includes airfare, guests acknowledge that all flight schedules are operated and controlled solely by the airline and may be subject to delays, cancellations, or schedule changes beyond our control. Hawaii Tours is not responsible for any airline-related disruptions.
If a flight delay, cancellation, or schedule change causes a guest to miss any portion of a tour or activity, no refunds, credits, rescheduling, or compensation will be provided for the missed services.
Flight schedules and tour itineraries are arranged based on availability at the time of booking. While we make every effort to allow reasonable connection times, airline operations remain outside of our control and may change without notice.
Outside of the 7-day cancellation period, date changes or tour changes may be accommodated at no additional charge, subject to tour availability.
