Mālama Maui Nui’s Community Workday Events are a great way to engage with the local community with hands-on environmental stewardship. Each event focuses on protecting and restoring different areas across Maui through activities such as removing invasive plants, clearing debris, and planting native species.
Upcoming events are open to all, providing an opportunity for individuals, families, and groups to join in. Volunteers will meet at the designated location, where they will receive gloves, tools, and instruction on how to complete the tasks for the day. With a focus on collaboration, these workdays create a space for people to come together, connect with nature, and support the health of Maui’s ecosystems.
These events are suitable for all ages, and no prior experience is necessary. Just bring a willingness to help protect the land and enjoy a rewarding day in Maui’s beautiful landscapes.
Itinerary
- 8:00 AM: Meet at the designated workday location for check-in and introductions.
- 8:15 AM: Briefing on the day’s tasks, including invasive species removal and native plant restoration.
- 8:30 AM: Begin hands-on activities with guidance from experienced leaders.
- 10:30 AM: Break for water and snacks (bring your own).
- 10:45 AM: Continue with the conservation activities until the day’s work is completed.
- 12:00 PM: Wrap up and group reflection on the work accomplished.

- Price: Free of charge
- Availability: The Pulehu Road Community Workday event typically takes place on Saturdays, but occasionally runs on other dates. Please join our waitlist, and we’ll notify you of the next available dates.

Instructions
Volunteers should meet at the designated site at 8:00 AM. All tools and safety equipment will be provided. Be prepared for outdoor work and bring water, snacks, and personal items for comfort.
Restrictions
Family-friendly and open to all ages. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
