Manta Ray Night Snorkel Tour Features
Snorkel Or Not, It’s A Ton Of Fun
We provide wetsuits and snorkel gear, and our expert guides will talk with you about the mantas, their significance to the Islands, and some knowledge about their behavior. For our snorkeling guests, after dark our crew will guide you onto our state-of-the-art “manta floatation device.” You’ll watch in amazement as these majestic manta rays glide and loop, feeding on microscopic plankton attracted to the light sources attached to the float. Snorkel time is approximately 45 minutes. Don’t want to snorkel? That’s okay too. For our ride-along guests, you can watch the majestic manta rays from the comfort of our 50-foot catamaran.
Spacious and Comfortable Vessel
A catamaran is a multihulled vessel consisting of two parallel hulls of equal size. They are often used as charter boats because they provide more space and stability than a monohull. Catamarans are also able to sail closer to the wind than monohulls, making them ideal for exploring the Hawaiian Islands. Our catamaran is 50 feet long and provides guests with a comfortable and stable ride. The main cabin has a Bimini top that provides shade from the sun. There is also plenty of space on deck for guests to move around and take in the stunning views of the Kona coastline.
Incredible Nighttime Sky Views
After our snorkel, take some time to enjoy the night sky on the way back. If you love stargazing, there’s no better place to be than the Big Island. Thanks to its dark-sky friendly lighting regulations, the island offers some of the best views of the stars in the world. You’ll be amazed at how many stars you can see, especially when you view them from a boat. In addition to stars, you can also see the Galactic Center of the Milky Way from the Big Island.

Description
After you board the Hoku Nui, our spacious 50-foot catamaran, you will travel to the World-Famous Manta Ray Village off the Kona Coast. Going on a manta ray night snorkel in Hawaii is an amazing and unforgettable experience. The Travel Channel says, “It’s one of the top ten things to do in your lifetime.”
The manta rays are particularly spectacular, and you'll have a front row seat to their underwater acrobatics. You will be snorkeling with these gentle giants in their natural habitat while they feed on plankton attracted to the light of the underwater floodlights on the boat. It is an incredible experience to see these creatures up close and personal. These animals are harmless and curious, and you will be able to get within a few feet of them. This is truly a once in a lifetime opportunity that you won’t want to miss.
On our way back to the harbor, we’ll have some snacks, and you need to look up to see the incredible Hawaiian night sky. Because of our “dark sky” policies in the Islands, you will swear you can see the center of the cosmos right over your head!
