Please get in touch with us if you want to extend your stay in Hawaii before or after your Viking Neptune cruise. We have all sorts of transportation options, uniquely Hawaiian experiences, and great hotels to share with you.
Are you arriving on a different cruise ship? We help guests find great shore excursions across all Hawaiian Islands. Please fill out this form to help organize your vacation to Hawaii. We can arrange flights to Hawaii. Airport transfers to and from the Honolulu Harbor as well as transfers from your island resort are available.
The cruise ship leaves at 7AM and leaves at 5 PM from Honolulu Harbor so guests who come in the day before, or leave the day after have a full day to explore the island.
Many guests arrive and stay for a couple nights before or after in Waikiki. We recommend coming in a couple of days prior so you can take time to enjoy the island of Oahu and then fly out the day the ship returns to port. Tours with pick up at Honolulu Harbor Cruise Ship Pier can provide luggage storage for the day and take guests on a variety of experiences.
This cruise has a two day stop at the Kahului port. Guests will have up to 35-hours to explore this island so doing the Road to Hana on your first day is a great option. The second day you can get up early and watch the sunrise on Haleakala or go for a snorkeling you and even see humpback whales from Jan to April.
There are many combinations of tours so depending on the group, a short hike and a helicopter tour works better. The second day, tours will not go to Hana or do sunsets due to time constraints. On the first day, snorkel and sunrise tours will not be available.
The second port of call gives you a chance to check out this historic town and visit an active volcano. Most guests will take a full day sightseeing tour to visit Volcanoes National Park, a black sand beach, waterfalls and more sights around Hilo.
Not everyone is into volcanoes so we have added some additional tours that are available including ATVs, horseback rides, helicopter flights, and other great experiences. (They do not include transportation so please book that option at checkout.)
This is the only stop on the cruise where a tender boat is utilized. The short stop off the coast of Kailua-Kona is wonderful. The views are spectacular and the historic town is a nice place to stroll for a bit.
The experiences and sightseeing tours from this location are short and rich in culture and history of the area. Unfortunately, the rides tend to be long and the stops short due to time constraints.
There are some tours leaving from the Kailua-Kona pier like a submarine or snorkel trips. For those wanting to get into the air, there are many helicopter tour options about 30-50 minute drive away. Choose our roundtrip activity transfer service at checkout.
Guests wish they had more time on this island, the two days will not feel like enough. On the first day, a trip out to Waimea Canyon, combined with a fern grotto cruise and a luau may be the best day of different experiences possible in Hawaii.
The second day is filled with unique adventures and fun for all age groups. Spend the day mountain tubing, or ATVing. Maybe head out for a hike or zip instead. All these adventures are available but guests only have time to choose one of them.
One of the very best experiences (on an island full of great places to see) is to take a helicopter ride around to see canyons, waterfalls, craters and the famed Na Pali Coast. Itʻs something you will not soon forget.
Our tours are designed so they return you to the ship in plenty of time before the “All Aboard” call.
We guarantee you won’t miss the ship’s departure. In the unlikely event that it occurs, we will make arrangements and cover expenses so you meet the ship at the next port of call. (This applies only to tours where Hawaii Tours provides round-trip transportation services.)
