Turtle Town Reef

After an adventurous morning at Molokini we will head for the reef area known as “Turtle Town”. This reef is just offshore of Makena south of Wailea where small fish called rasps eat the algae that accumulates on turtle shells. This “cleaning station” is a prime place to see Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles and a shallow reef loaded with colorful fish and corals. After all that snorkeling a delicious barbecue lunch is served along with cocktails and beer as we head out to La Perouse Bay at the southernmost tip of Maui. This area is home to pods of spinner dolphins who often follow along with the boat. A fun game of “boat trivia” ensues on the way back to Maalaea Harbor, finishing an exciting day in Maui’s pristine underwater nature preserves!

The Hawaiian green sea turtles are a protected species, and it is unlawful to touch, chase, ride or harass them in any way. Swim calmly, and respect the green sea turtles in their natural environment.

For very young children, we suggest that you might want to bring a swim vest that your child feels comfortable wearing.
For those over 21 years of age, a PICTURE ID is required if you would like to be served alcoholic beverages from the bar.

If you have your own snorkel gear, and feel more comfortable with it, you are welcome to bring it! However, we do provide sanitized, quality snorkel gear and flotation devices free of charge.

Underwater Camera rentals are available for purchase.

SAFETY FIRST: Your safety is important to us! Each of our crew members are Red Cross certified and excellent swimmers. While snorkeling, we make sure there is ample crew, both in and out of the water, for your assistance and safety. We also have a certified scuba diver in the water for those that SNUBA.
WHALE WATCHING: From December 20th - April 20th, this trip additionally features outstanding humpback whale watching action!

Cancellation

Any request for a refund 72 hours or more prior to the start of the tour or activity is honored with a full refund.

No refunds are issued for any cancellations inside the 72-hour period, prior to the start of your tour. There is no refund for no-shows. There is no charge for date change or tour change based on tour availability outside of the 72-hour cancellation period.

What Should You Do While Snorkeling?

Choose the right snorkel mask. A snorkel mask with a snug fit is the first step to go snorkeling Wear fins with socks or booties if possible. Practice first in shallow shoreline waters. Be aware of your locations tides and currents Relax, enjoy, and rest often Use reef safe sunblock only.
How Deep Do You Go When Snorkeling?

Generally shallow reefs ranging from 3 to 13 ft are favored by snorkelers. Deeper reefs can also be explored but repeated dives to deeper depths requires a high level of fitness and skill.
Do You Need To Know Swimming For Snorkeling?

You do NOT need to know how to swim to snorkel. You do, however, at least need to be comfortable in the water. Tour boats will provide all the snorkel gear needed including float belts and boogie boards for beginners and children.
Where does the boat leave from on this tour?

This morning boat tour leaves from the Maalaea Harbor. Make sure to park close to your slip and pay for parking for the full amount of time.
