Description
High above the island of Maui, Haleakalā's summit offers a perspective of the island unlike any other. With rare plants and animals, foggy or sunlit views, and a local flavor that is unforgettable, any journey to the summit or back down from it is well worth setting out for. Let us transport you to the site of Haleakalā's majesty, both metaphorically and also literally!
After pickup you will begin the winding drive up to the summit of Haleakalā to enjoy the spectacular sunrise. Sunrise reservations as well as park admission are included as part of the tour, so you will be able to relax and enjoy one of the most breathtaking natural scenes anywhere in the world.
After the sunrise you will be driven back to the entrance of the park to begin your downhill descent. All the top of the line gear you will need is provided, including Kona mountain bikes, Dakine backpacks, and Bell Helmets. You can then cruise a portion of the mountain at your own speed. Stop and take breaks for pictures.
At the lower portion of the mountain, we then pick you up and guide you around Upcountry Maui to a wonderful breakfast before bringing you back to our base yard (self-guided tours) or the guide will return you to your accommodations. A wonderful, morning biking and sunrise experience.
Check-in time for the sunrise portion of the tour varies by season and will affect what time you will be picked up from your accommodations or need to meet at the base yard (for self-guided tours). Sunrise check in times range from 3am – 4am, so be prepared for a very early morning!
