TransPacific 2027 Tournament Luau & Opening Ceremony
Friday, January 15 · 5:00–8:30 PM · Ala Moana Center
Open To Everyone
Before a single ball is served, every team in the TransPacific Championships gathers in one place. The 2027 TransPac Luau is the tournament’s opening ceremony — a full Hawaiian buffet from the imu, live music, hula, Polynesian fire performance, and team introductions that get the whole gym on its feet a day early. Players, coaches, parents, grandparents, and everyone who flew out to watch. One night, one room, before the competition starts.

Coaches and team managers: the $500 team housing opt-out is what unlocks the Experience Package and Luau for your families.
Every team, every family, every coach — before the first serve. Team introductions, the official opening ceremony, and the kind of pre-tournament energy you can’t manufacture. Athletes meet their competition over dinner instead of across the net.
Kālua pork pulled from the imu, poi, lomi salmon, chicken long rice, fresh island fruit, and haupia for dessert. Vegetarian options available. This isn’t a hotel banquet with a pineapple garnish — it’s the real thing, prepared the way it’s been prepared here for generations.
Live Hawaiian music, hula from dancers who grew up with it, and a Polynesian fire performance to close the night. Bring a camera. Your kids will remember this longer than the scores.

The TransPacific Volleyball Championships is a 7Gen Journey Pass Event with a stay-to-play requirement: traveling teams are expected to book inside the approved tournament hotel blocks. Teams that want to arrange their own lodging can opt out — a step handled by the coach or team manager. Once that’s done, players, families, and supporters from that team can purchase the TransPac Experience Package, luau tickets, or both. Oʻahu-based teams are exempt from the requirement entirely.
Coaches: opting out forfeits your team’s Journey Pass division-champion travel stipend eligibility,
which requires the Complete Package. Details on the team opt-out page.
Full details are in the 7Gen Journey Pass Policy (PDF).
