Description
Embark on a thrilling helicopter tour over lush native forest and waterfalls to the heart of the world's most active volcano. The Big Island of Hawaiʻi has been erupting almost constantly since 1983, showcasing the Hawaiian goddess Pele’s power as searing lava streams into the Pacific's cool embrace.
Marvel at the island's two major volcanoes: Mauna Loa, which includes Kilauea Volcano, and Mauna Kea. These imposing titans of the earth offer unparalleled views best appreciated from a helicopter. Mauna Kea is a sleeping giant that rises 13,796 feet above sea level. It’s the world's tallest mountain when measured from base to summit, towering up more than 6 miles from the ocean floor.
Our helicopter tours give you a front-row seat to the ongoing spectacle of the Big Island's volcanic activity and especially the East Rift Zone. Trace the path of historical eruptions along the Chain of Craters Road, and behold the Pu‘u O‘o Vent's intermittent plumes of volcanic gas and smoke rising through the air.
We'll tour along the coastline, surveying the aftermath of the recent eruption that devastated Leilani Estates and birthed a new black sand beach. Weather permitting, we’ll traverse several craters, including Napau and Mauna Ulu, to the world-famous Halemaumau Crater at Kilauea's summit.
Prepare to be astounded as you witness the breathtaking landscapes and visible volcanic history on this bucket-list tour. Immerse yourself in the indescribable wonders of Hawaiʻi’s volcanoes, which will leave an unforgettable imprint on your soul.
