This phenomenon is hard to spot anywhere but on the ocean, where the flat horizon lets the sun's light stretch out as far as the Earth will let it before it finally disappears from the view, causing a brief flash of color normally not seen at a sunset. This is the perfect way to end your day in Hawaiʻi, whether with your family or your sweetie.
