Few animals can match the majestic beauty of manta rays, and there is no better place to see them than in the waters that they call home. Here, their natural feeding pattern of swooping barrel rolls through the water makes them appear almost as if they are dancing just for you. Their eyes are windows into the incredible level of intelligence these animals possess too. When they look at you, you can see that that they are looking back with the same level of wonder and curiosity for that you feel for them.
We ask that you keep some mild distance from the manta rays. They only come to see us because they see us as harmless, so it will be harder to get the to come over if they feel nervous. Additionally, human hands are covered, even when underwater, in an oil that is extremely damaging to manta ray skin, so for their health and safety, please keep your hands to yourself!

As dusk sets in and the sun falls below the horizon, the waters off the coast of Kona go dark. This is the perfect time to see the manta rays. Plankton is attracted to light, and when the sun goes down, that means the lights that we cast into the gloom are the only ones around. Plankton gather towards the light, bringing the hungry manta rays with them.
The manta rays do swooping barrel rolls through the water, collecting the plankton as they do. Not only does this bring the mantas close to the light, and by extent to you, but it also makes for a beautiful dance to behold. There is no sight quite like it.
This dive is intended for certified divers, but as long as you meet that one requirement, we are happy to show you the wonders of the ocean up close. Your guides know the area, know the animals, and know the sport of diving like no one else around. So, take advantage of that knowledge and explore the ocean at the hour it is most beautiful.

- We require proof of diving certification
- All divers must be over 10 years of age and minors must be accompanied by an adult
- If the diver is 10-11 years old, you must reserve a private guide for them
Cancellation
Any request for a refund 72 hours or more prior to the start of the tour or activity is honored with a full refund.
No refunds are issued for any cancellations inside the 72-hour period, prior to the start of your tour. There is no refund for no-shows. There is no charge for date change or tour change based on tour availability outside of the 72-hour cancellation period.
