You'll start your journey from either O‘ahu or Maui, where you'll board a plane for the short flight to the Big Island. Description

This tour starts from HNL or Kahului airport. There you'll catch a flight to fly over to Hilo where your tour guide will meet you at the airport around 8:00 am. From here we journey through Hilo, seeing and stopping at various places till we reach the famed Rainbow Falls State Park on the edge of town.

The highlight of this tour is the many stops within Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park to see an active volcano and craters of the past along Chain of Craters Road. See the steam vents, check out the destruction of the crater due to the most recent eruption. See how the landscape changes and get other great information in the learning center of the Visitor Center.

Our tour also includes stops at a black sand beach, a lunch stop, scenic viewpoints, gardens, and more. Your guide will return you back to the airport in Hilo for your flight back to O'ahu, where your driver will meet you at the airport to transport you back to your hotel. In all an 8-hour day on the Big Island of Hawai'i.

Cancellation

Any inter-island tour or O'ahu tours originating from the Islands of Maui, Big Island, and Kauai may incur up to $100.00 per person airline change fee (if flights are included in your tour) for any changes to the original booking (this is currently being waived by airlines). Any request for a refund prior to 72 hours will result in a full credit for a future tour and the credit for airline flights is only in reserved names.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a pick-up for this tour at every hotel in Waikīkī?

In the Waikīkī area, we can pick up and return guests to most accommodations directly. There are some rare cases where we need to direct you to another hotel lobby or pick-up location for us to meet you. This is due to traffic, safety, and available space at the meeting points. Please refer to your confirmation email about the nearest location (normally within a minute's walk of most condo accommodations).
What Should I Bring?

All guest must bring a valid photo ID for the airport security check-in. Additionally, we recommend a light jacket and a camera/smartphone for capturing the scenic tour.
Will I See Lava Flowing On A Volcano Tour?

Active lava flow is unfortunately never guaranteed while visiting the park. In most cases though, visitors are able to view some lava flow upclose from lava viewing access points (for hikers) and from a distance while on boat or helicopter tours.
What Side Of The Big Island Can I Fly To?

There are two airports on the Big Island - One in Hilo which is the rugged and lush tropical windward side and the other is in Kona on the dry western side of the island. Hilo is where the island’s rainforests and waterfalls are and Kona is where the big resorts and beaches are.

How Much Hiking/Walking Is Involved In The Day Tours?

The day is tailored to the group but in most cases, the amount of walking will be less than 1/2 of a mile at a time. Almost all areas are wheelchair accessible except the lava tube and some pathways in the National Park. The vehicle does not have a wheelchair lift so someone in your group will have to be able to assist you into the vehicle and be able to fold up and store a wheelchair.
Are You With The Same Guide The Whole Day?

The guide will be with you from landing in Hilo to when you return to Honolulu or Maui. If you choose the helicopter add-on, the guide will drop you off at the helicopter company and pick you up after the flight.
Is there a lot of walking?

You can walk as much as you feel like on this tour. We encourage guests to get out and see some of the sites we stop at but how far you explore is entirely up to you.
