The main types of fish we will be looking for are Mahi Mahi and Marlin, but as you will see the Kona coast is teeming with other marine life as well. This area is renowned for being the fishing capital of the world for Blue Marlin, and is easy to see why.

Itinerary

Half Day Charters are approximately 4 hours with options for a morning or afternoon departure. Up to 6 passengers.

Full Day Charters are approximately 8 hours with a morning departure. Up to 6 passengers.

Instruction

A waiver will need to be signed at check-in and while on the boat

Reels, rods, supply ice, and bait are included in the price of your tour. Guests will need to bring their own food and drinks

Guests are advised to bring a jacket or sweatshirt, sun protection, food, drinks, and a camera

Tours operate out of the Honokohau Marina on the Kona side of the island

Parking at the harbor is available

Cancellation

Contact the office 72-hours prior to your departure time for a 100% refund.

All routes and timing will be based upon the captain’s discretion on that day. If a cruise is cancelled, you will receive a full refund.

Frequently Asked Questions

What time does the tour depart?

Depending on the length of the charter you have reserved there will be availability for both a morning and an afternoon departure. Typically our morning charters leave the dock at 6:30am and 10:30am. And our afternoon charters leave at 12:30am and 2:30pm. Please arrive at the dock 15 minutes prior to your departure time!
Do I need to obtain a fishing license?

No! All of the licenses and permits are included as part of the tour, so there will be no need for you to obtain an individual license.
Do I get to keep what I catch?

Any Blue Marlin that are caught will typically be released back into the wild to promote their conservation, but you are welcome to keep other types of fish up to 50 pounds. Anything heavier usually goes to the boat. Captain's discretion. We will even clean and package the fish for you!
