Humpback Whale Behavior
Humpback whales (Megaptera novaeangliae) are some of the most fascinating creatures in the ocean. They are renowned for their acrobatic displays, such as breaching and lobtailing, and they often interact with other species, including dolphins. Humpbacks also have complex social behavior, including singing complex songs to attract mates or communicate. Their migration patterns take them all over the world's oceans yearly, making them one of the few animals on earth that can be seen almost everywhere.
The Vessel
Sailing on a large double-decker catamaran is an exhilarating experience. The feeling of the wind in your hair and the sun warming your skin as you glide through the water is simply indescribable. The expansive upper level of the catamaran provides plenty of space to stretch out and relax, while the lower deck offers more seating and shade if you need a break from the sun. On top of that, there's plenty of room to move around so you don't feel cramped during this 2-hour whale watch.

Description
Our Maui whale watching tour departs from Ma'alaea and is an exhilarating experience you will never forget. During the tour, we can observe these majestic animals up close in their natural environment. Our boat has a double deck, so everyone can get a great view of the whales. We often see them engaging in activities like fin slapping, lobtailing, and other social interactions. Sometimes during the tour, we are lucky enough to watch an amazing sight: a breach by one of these giant creatures! A humpback whale can weigh up to 40 tons and jump as high as 16 feet out of the water – it’s truly incredible!
We also get to see another amazing feat during our tours – their exhalations. A full-grown humpback whale can dive for up to 30 minutes before resurfacing and blowing a mist of seawater up into the air. You won’t want to miss this unique display of power! Our experienced guides provide informative narration throughout the tour that will add context to what you are seeing. They will ensure you don’t miss any key facts or behaviors of these incredible animals throughout your time on board.
