Take a fascinating journey with us on our 30ft rugged ocean raft for a unique Whale Watching experience off the coast of Oahu! The majestic humpback whales migrate to the Hawaiian waters annually during the months of December through April for mating and birthing. Even though whales are under protection in Hawaii, and we strictly respect federal regulations of not approaching them too closely, it's common for these gigantic creatures to come closer to our compact rafts, providing a closer and eye-level encounter.
The annual winter migration of whales to the Hawaiian Islands and their activities here has been recorded by Hawaiians over countless generations. Environmental experts estimate that more than half of the humpback whale population in the North Pacific takes refuge in Hawaii during winter. It is projected that at the height of the humpback whale season in February, roughly 10,000 to 12,000 whales make their way to the Hawaiian islands yearly!
