Sunset Sail On Polynesian Canoe Tour Features
See the beauty of the Waianae Coast
It’s unbelievable until you see it in person! This is an unforgettable excursion on a traditional double-hulled sailing canoe. This 2-hour trip includes live music, snacks, and a delicious dinner. Listen to storytelling from your local Hawaiian hosts.
Mo‘olelo and ceremonial sunset ’ol
Mo‘olelo is traditional storytelling to perpetuate Hawaiian historical and cultural understanding of the landscapes and ocean. Our onboard expert will share history, legends, and myths of the land. Then, as the sun goes down, you will participate in a traditional Hawaiian ceremonial sunset ‘oli (A sunset chant). We put the sun to sleep to bring the day to a close and acknowledge that we must also go to sleep, and we will see each other again the next day.
Culture and Food
The knowledgeable staff on-board the Kamoauli will share their love of the islands and its culture. Learn to pound taro into poi, listen to music played on the ukulele, watch a hula dance, and dine on delicious freshly made Hawaiian food. Enjoy freshly made ahi tuna poke, steamed purple sweet potatoes, smoked bonito, haupia coconut pudding, and of course, poi, the uniquely flavored and textured center piece of any Hawaiian meal.
