Waipi’o Horseback Tour
Have fun horsing around in the beautiful Waipi’o Valley
Enjoy the spectacle of a guided excursion into the legendary Waipi’o Valley. Nestled between Mauna Kea and Kohala mountains, Waipiʻo is the largest of seven valleys along the isolated northeastern coast of Hawaiʻi island. The rich history of this valley dates to the first Polynesian settlers who lovingly cultivated the ʻāina (land) that provided their everyday needs. In the days after Captain Cook, scores of ships came to the Islands bringing cattle with them, which quickly flourished on the rich grazing lands. The herds grew so large that Mexican Vaqueros (cowboys) were brought in with their horses to help control the imported cattle.
