After visiting the black sand beach in Pololu Valley and enjoying the view you will head to Downtown Hawi. This small town has a number of boutique stores and a charming aesthetic, but one site that is sure to catch your eye is the huge statue of King Kamehameha I in the center of town. Hawi is a small town with an incredibly charming, hip and funky aesthetic. Located on the northern tip of the Big Island, this town was at the center of much of the economic boom that came with the sugar cane industry. Once the industry began to decline, the people of Hawi adapted and transformed it into the laid-back artist community it is today.
This type of photography is in a broad sense just taking pictures of the night sky, but those who are interested in the subject know that capturing incredible images of the stars in the night sky requires the perfect location. We will head to a secluded spot after dark where you can enjoy the amazing stargazing conditions the Big Island is known for. Your guide will be there to offer tips and guidance as well as help set up your complimentary tripod.
