Nestled amongst the farms and grassy hills of O‘ahu is the Gunstock Ranch. A charming, western style ranch, it is both the home of many majestic animals, and also the starting point for a journey like no other on the island.

It can be hard to see O‘ahu’s many incredible locations by most means. Some are outright unreachable by car, and it’s difficult to truly appreciate so many more from the limited number of angles the more traveled roads take you through. Head off-road, break away from the normal and see this incredible island for what it is!

On the back of a well-trained horse, set out to not only see O‘ahu, but to engage with it. Plant a native tree, have a picnic lunch with the most beautiful scenery imaginable, and spend quality time with your friends and family. Experienced guides will teach you about the local area and its many treasures, but all these wonders are only available to those willing to take a more rugged path to see them. Bulky bags and packs are not allowed during the ride for safety reasons
It is recommended that you wear reef-safe sunscreen and long pants with close-toed shoes
Please be mindful of instructions and respectful of your surroundings

Restrictions

1.5 Hour Scenic Horseback Ride:

To participate in this activity, everyone must be at least 7 years old and weigh under 235 lbs (106 kg) and no pregnant riders. Weight limit is strictly enforced with a scale. No refunds will be issued if guests do not meet the requirements to participate.
This activity is not recommended for guests with knee, hip, and back problems. If guests are physically unable to participate in this ride no refunds will be issued.

Private Off-Road Eco Tour:

Everyone must be at least 5 years old.
This tour is a guide-driven experience.
This tour, has time built in to plant a native/ endemic tree. To do this the purchase of one Hawaiian Legacy Tour tree for $120 is required. All proceeds from the tree go to the non-profit HLRI.

Cancellation and Refunds Your purchase is 100% refundable provided you cancel your reservation at least 24 hours (for group charters) or 72 hours (for private charters) prior to its check-in time. The company reserves the right to cancel or reschedule tours at any time due to weather or capacity.

Will the tree I can plant actually help the environment?

Yes! Your little sapling will join Hawaii’s first legacy forest, where our goal is to help the local flora of Hawaii to flourish in a protected environment.
What is the ranch like?

We have a beautiful, western-style ranch with views of the mountains and plenty of charming animals that you can spot as they hang out and graze.
Do I need to bring anything?

You do not need anything besides the clothes on your back and a good attitude to join in on this tour. However, there are a few things we do recommend. Since this is an outdoor tour, reef-safe sunscreen comes highly recommended to protect your skin, and likewise sunglasses and a hat are also good ideas. Close-toed shoes and pants will also help to keep you from getting nicked by plants during your ride.
