Following its destruction by Hurricane Iniki in 1992, Mala Wharf has emerged as the premier dive site on Maui. Just a short stroll from our shop, Mala boasts a vibrant ecosystem teeming with life. If your schedule allows only one dive during your island visit, this should be it. At the sunken pier, you'll encounter a diverse array of marine creatures, including turtles, sharks, bustling schools of fish, playful octopuses, graceful eels, colorful nudibranchs, and the sought-after frogfish, adding a touch of elusive charm to your underwater adventure.
All our shore dives are private or in small groups of no more than 4 divers, so you’ll get the most out of your experience. The dive site will be chosen on the morning of your dive, taking into account your preferences, diving proficiency, and current water conditions. Your instructor will have the necessary gear prepared for you to try on, followed by a brief overview before you begin your underwater adventure.
With an abundance of exceptional diving spots in Maui, sometimes one dive isn't sufficient. Should you desire more exploration, we offer a second consecutive tank for an additional $50 per person.

You plunge into the water and, after a brief surface swim, descend onto a condemned pier now transformed into a thriving reef. The wreckage is loaded with colorful corals and sponges, enveloped by swirling schools of fish.
Amid the organized chaos of turtles darting around, you scour the scene for elusive frogfish. Following your instructor, you navigate the obstacle course of the wreck, maneuvering under and through the aged dock. There, nestled beneath a section of cement, you encounter a serene sight—a pregnant reef shark, gracefully resting, fascinating you with her tranquil presence.
As you head back to the starting point, your attention is captured again by the multitude of turtles gracefully gliding through the crystal-clear waters, a fitting finale to your underwater journey.

If it has been more than two years since your last dive, please contact us to discuss scheduling a refresher dive. We will not allow divers who have been out of the water for more than two years to dive without a refresher. Upon successful completion of a refresher dive we will be happy to help you book more dives.
Any request for a refund 72 hours or more prior to the start of the tour or activity is honored with a full refund.
No refunds are issued for any cancellations inside the 72-hour period, prior to the start of your tour. There is no refund for no-shows. There is no charge for a date change or tour change based on tour availability outside of the 72-hour cancellation period.
