After our departure from the harbor, we motor out to Molokini Crater. Molokini Crater is a natural destination for Maui visitors looking for the best snorkeling clarity as well as protected ocean and bird life. This volcanic atoll is just off the south coast of Maui, and in the clear waters you will experience ocean life like you’ve never seen. Colorful fish swim by just inches from you as you explore this magical coral wonderland. Molokini Crater is home to about 250 types of marine species and there are 38 different types of hard coral inside the Crater.

Don’t miss Maui’s best snorkeling experience! Molokini Crater, located 3 miles offshore, is Maui’s premier snorkeling spot. Did you know there are close to 250 species of fish and 38 species of coral at Molokini? On a clear day, you can see up to 150 feet!

We shove off at 7:30 am and start the day with a tropical breakfast as we motor out to the crater. Known for its family-friendly features, you will love this trip on the only vessel on Maui to have a glass-bottom viewing room (not just a viewing port) that you can sit in! It is a 180-degree, total-surround experience. Whale-watching season is December-March, so you might even get to see these amazing creatures as we go! You will enjoy plenty of time at Molokini Crater to snorkel and relax. A hot BBQ lunch awaits you back on board with a variety of beverages as we head back to port after our adventure.

SAFETY FIRST: Your safety is important to us! Each of our crew members are Red Cross Certified, CPR, and FIRST AID trained. While snorkeling we make sure there is ample crew, both in and out of the water for your assistance and safety. We also have a certified scuba diver in the water for those that SNUBA.

WHALE WATCHING: Seasonally from December – March, this trip additionally features humpback whale watching.

*Snorkel sites are selected at the discretion of the captain. We always attempt to reach Molokini when weather and conditions permit.

Itinerary

We depart daily at 7:30 am from Mā'alaea Harbor. We return at 12:30 pm.

Is There A Bathroom And Shade Onboard?

Yes to both! We have built-in awnings that cover the upper and lower decks and there is a bathroom (marine head) that doubles as a place to change.
What Should We Bring On Board The Boat?

You will need a beach towel, swimsuit, NON-aerosol sunscreen, a hat or light coverup (the mornings can be cool), cash or credit card for anything extra you might want to purchase while on board or for gratuity. You will want to bring a camera. We do offer reef safe sunscreen as a courtesy on board our boats. A valid ID is needed for alcoholic beverages.
Do You Have To Be Able To Swim To SNUBA?

Yes! You do need to be comfortable with snorkeling and being in the water to have the best possible SNUBA experience.
Do You Have To Be Able To Swim To Snorkel?

Actually, you DO NOT NEED TO KNOW HOW TO SWIM in order to snorkel with us. We offer multiple flotation devices to assist you and keep you afloat while in the water.

Is This Trip Safe For Children And The Elderly?

Absolutely. We have safety rails throughout the vessel, and entry into and out of the water is safe and easy with submerged stairs. We also boast a glass bottom viewing area and a super water slide on the bow. In addition, we have dedicated staff members who watch people at all times while in the water.
Is This A SNUBA Or Snorkel Trip?

This is a Snorkel Adventure that offers our guests the opportunity to also do SNUBA all on one trip.
How long do we get to snorkel on this cruise?

There will be about an hour to snorkel at Molokini. There will be a second location to snorkel at depending on weather for another 1/2 hour to 45 min.
