Nearby Activities

Naturally, you’ll want to spend time exploring Volcanoes National Park – it’s one of the main reasons you’re here! But there is much more to see and do in the area. Hike the 3.3-mile Kilauea Iki loop and you’ll go through a rainforest down to a solidified lava lake. On your way back up, there are several incredible scenic overlooks. You might choose to take a guided tour with one of the Certified Guides and learn a bit about the natural and cultural history of the region. Or try an E-Bike tour where you get to smell, feel, and see the beauty of the area. This area is home to some of the rarest plants and animals in Hawai’i. And, when you stay at Kilauea Lodge, you’re less than an hour’s drive from the trailhead that will take you to Papakolea Beach – one of only two green sand beaches in the US.
