Description

Our most popular option for beginner to intermediate surfers is the group lesson, offering high-quality surf instruction at an incredible value. Enjoy personalized attention from your surf instructor, as we keep our group sizes small—no more than four students per instructor. The lesson begins with a 30-minute land demonstration, followed by time spent surfing in the ocean. Participants must be at least 13 years old.
For younger keiki (kids) our private one-on-one lessons are tailored for children aged three to eleven. Adults are also welcome! With the undivided attention of our experienced surf instructor, your young ones can safely and effectively experience surfing at Ala Moana Beach!

Any request for a refund 72 hours or more prior to the start of the tour or activity is honored with a full refund.
No refunds are issued for any cancellations inside the 72-hour period, prior to the start of your tour. There is no refund for no-shows. There is no charge for date change or tour change based on tour availability outside of the 72-hour cancellation period.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to know how to swim?

You must be comfortable in the water. While an instructor will be close by, all participants should be able to keep their head above the water. We do offer life jackets if you want one.
Is one class enough?

Yes, one surf lesson is enough to get the basics and have a great time. Of course, if you really wish to get better fast, then there is no quicker way than several days of coaching.
Can my young child take a lesson?

Yes, young children under 13 can certainly take a surfing lesson, we do require that they take a private lesson (one on one). Depending on your child’s weight and ability, we have the keiki surfer go tandem surfing or surfing alongside the instructor. No matter what, the instructor is with your child every step of the way as they learn how to surf.
