Tour Description

Check in for departure will be 45 minutes prior to your tours start time at the Kona International Airport. The helicopter will lift off and your pilot will immediately begin the tour by flying over the incredible Kona coffee district and the slopes of Mauna Loa. While flying over the coast you will be able to catch glimpses of huge sea cliffs, crashing waves and a green sand beach. Green sand beaches are incredibly rare, and the one found on the Big Island is one of only four in the world. As the tour continues your pilot will take you to view the crater that was formerly the Pu’u ‘O’o Vent of the Kilauea Volcano.

Headed east the scenery will change drastically to lush jungle as you approach the windward side of the island and Hilo town. Lava tubes, rushing rivers, and gorgeous waterfalls are plentiful in this region, and you may feel as if you have been transported to a time when dinosaurs roamed the earth. Your pilot will then take you to see the thundering waterfalls and steep jungle cliffs of the Kohala valleys before flying over pristine white sand beaches on your return to Kona. Flight time will vary between 1.9 – 2.35 hours depending on weather conditions.
