Description

Cruise through Kualoa’s valley roads, pastures, and trails on an e-Mountain Bike. You still must peddle, but these state-of-the-art e-bikes have a small electric motor that gives you a boost up the hills and throughout the ride, making for a fun, active, and eco-friendly experience getting out into nature. Our novice experience travels ~6 miles through the Kualoa and Ka’a’awa valleys, making 4-5 stops along the journey, providing great photo ops and beautiful views. For more confident and frequent riders, we offer an intermediate-level tour with a faster ride throughout more varied terrain and trails. You’ll cover ~9.5 miles of dirt trails, ridges, and valleys. We’ll have your bike adjusted for you and begin with a safety assessment and short practice ride before starting the tour.

Itinerary

There are several departure times daily. You can drive to Kualoa Ranch in your own vehicle or schedule a pickup in Waikīkī. There is a 2-hour tour for novices and a 3-hour tour for more advanced riders.

Instructions

MUD HAPPENS! Tours go out rain or shine, so we recommend checking the weather and bringing a change of clothes in case conditions are wet, muddy, or dusty.
All riders are required to successfully pass our test course, demonstrating the skills to competently ride an e-mountain bike on varied terrain. If you are unable to demonstrate the ability to safely ride, you may be cancelled and offered a replacement tour subject to availability. No refund will be offered.
Basic safety standards that our tour guides look for: Ability to steer and handle varied terrain (turning and cornering without going off trail/track), shift gears (down shift, up shift, control while shifting and riding), brake (controlled use of both brakes, no skidding, no sudden braking), and overall control (balance, control of pedals, trail debris avoidance, pace), etc.
Minimum age is 10 years old. If Participant is under the age of 18, parent/guardian will need to participate in this tour and sign liability waiver for minor.

Any request for a refund prior to 72 hours is honored with a full cash refund. In the event of cancellation or request change to your reservation, please note the following. Most Hawaii Tours & Activities originating from Oahu, there is no charge for date change or tour change based on tour availability. No refunds issued for any tours within the 72 hour period, prior to the start of your tour.

Frequently Asked Questions

How strict are the guidelines for this tour? My child is just below the requirements.

The sizes are guidelines so that we have bikes that will fit them. These bikes are already a little big with the battery packs so our minimum requirements are pretty close to what we will allow. Children grow quickly so if your tour date is not for a while you can take the risk but be sure to cancel or change at least 72 hours before the tour start time.
Does The Weather Affect The Tour?

The safety of our guests is our number one priority and weather conditions are always taken into consideration. Generally, unless there are high winds or lightning, our tours go out rain or shine. Kualoa Ranch reserves the right to cancel a tour or reservation if conditions are deemed unsafe. If we do so, we will refund your money for the portion that may have been cancelled.
What Should I Wear?

Closed-toe shoes are required. We recommend a light jacket as well.
Are All Tours Guided?

Yes, all tours, activities, and experiences are guided by trained Kualoa staff.

Is Transportation To The Ranch Included?

Transportation is available for select tours only for an additional $30 fee. When booking on Kualoa’s website, if your tour is compatible, look for the option to add-on transportation and follow the steps.
Do I Need To Know How To Ride A Bike?

For the safety and well-being of others, all riders must know how to ride a bike to participate in our bike tours. We conduct a safety briefing and test ride before each tour. If you are unable to demonstrate the ability to safely ride, you will be asked to ride in an alternate vehicle or stay back and wait until the tour is finished. No refund will be offered.
Does the UTV or the E-bike tours go the same route as the bigger Jurassic adventure? Do you still get to see everything from the Jurassic Park movies?

The bike tours have a bit more flexibility in where they can go but they do not go as fast or as far. You wonʻt see as much as on a UTV but you get to go on different smaller, paths. You will still see a lot of movie sites, props, and other film-related items along your ride but because you donʻt have a narration while you ride, you may not realize it. We will stop for all the important sites along the ride.
How long does it take to drive from Waikiki?

The drive from Waikīkī is about 50 minutes with no traffic. Most of the drive is along city streets and then a two-lane highway that winds along the windward coast.
