The benefit of a UTV is that it allows you to talk to each other inside the vehicle, stop to take photos, and enable younger children (ages five and up) to ride along! In fact, we have a two-hour ride-along version of this experience for those wanting a more guided journey. If you want to let someone else drive so you can focus on the scenery, we have a great 2-hour ride-along adventure just for you. If you want a private tour for just your group, we have 3-hour private tours available, too!

This exceptional opportunity to tour Kualoa Ranch’s iconic Jurassic Valley is a sure way to make incredible memories that will last your lifetime. The lush jungle landscapes and towering mountains overhead have been featured in many films, and this tour will take you to many recognizable sites along the way.

Get the opportunity to drive your open-air UTV (Ultra Terrain Vehicle) and bring your whole group along for the adventure. Drivers must be at least 21 and may swap out mid-tour. Our state-of-the-art UTVs can accommodate groups from 2 to 5 guests per vehicle and six if more minor children are aboard. Operating in rain or shine, you will drive along the saddle road that leads into remote areas through stunning landscapes of 1,000+ acre Ka’a’awa “Jurassic” Valley. After a good rain, you may have to cross rivers and peer up at mystical waterfalls that pour over the cliff tops overhead. This offroad adventure may get muddy, so dress accordingly! We would suggest wearing comfortable clothing, bringing sunglasses, a hat, your reef-safe sunscreen, and a camera.

An advantage of the UTV versus a traditional ATV adventure is that younger passengers can ride along, you’ll have opportunities to stop and take photos at will, and it is easy to converse with each other in the vehicle. Friendly guides will show you all of the exciting features along the way, and make sure to keep a low guide-to-guest ratio of one guide per 5 UTVs so that they can focus on creating the best experience for your group.

The Jurassic Valley UTV Ride is a popular tour and can be booked 4-5 weeks in advance, so make your reservations early!

Transportation to and from Waikīkī hotels is available. There are early morning and mid-morning departure times to Kualoa Ranch that return throughout the afternoon to Waikīkī, or you can choose private roundtrip transportation.

Cancellation

We require at least 72 hours' notice for cancellation before your tour or scheduled pick-up time to avoid a full charge penalty.

Do you accept military discounts?

We currently do not offer any discounts on this tour for military or kama'aina. If you are a group of over 10 people, please contact our groups department for options.
Where does this tour take place?

The Jurassic Valley UTV ride begins at the ranch's main building. Type Kualoa Ranch into any map program to get directions to the Windward Oʻahu location, about a one-hour drive from Waikīkī.
What Does UTV Stand For?

UTV stands for Ultra Terrain Vehicle. Our line of open-air UTV’s features 4WD and can accommodate 2-6 people per vehicle.
Are There Any Age Restrictions To Driving Or Riding Along?

Drivers must be at least 21 years old. Children over the age of 5 are welcome to ride in our UTV’s.
Does The Jurassic Valley UTV Tour Operate In Rainy Weather?

Generally, the tours go out rain or shine. However, under high winds or unsafe conditions, we may cancel the tour and will refund the full cost or portion that may have been cancelled. Keep in mind that guests find this tour especially exciting when it rains, as you can see more waterfalls falling from the mountain peaks!
Is There A Place To Store Belongings While Out On The Tour?

Yes. Lockers are available for $5 for all-day use in the Locker Rental area next to the Hollywood Wall of Fame and History Hall mini-museum.
Is Transportation To Kualoa Ranch Automatically Included In All The Tours?

Transportation is not included to the ranch which is about an hour outside of Waikīkī. Depending on the time of your tour, there may be group transportation available from Waikīkī (limited and not always available). We can arrange transportation for your group out to Kualoa and return for a fee.
What Are The Allowed Ages For The Different Tours Available?
- Children of all ages are allowed on the Aloha ‘Aina Tour, Hollywood Movie Sites Tour, Ocean Voyage Adventure Tour, and Secret Island Beach Activities.
- Children 3 years and older are allowed on all of the above tours as well as the Jungle Expedition Tour and Jurassic Adventure Tour.
- Children 5 years and older are allowed on all of the above tours as well as the Multi-Passenger UTV Raptor Tour and Malama Experience.
- Children 10 years and older are allowed on all of the above tours as well as the eBike Tours (as long as they meet height & weight requirements), Horseback Tours (as long as they meet height & weight requirements) and Zipline Tours (as long as they meet height & weight requirements).
Can I Participate If I Am Pregnant?

The official policy is that you should not participate in any tour and if you do, it is at your own risk. If you are showing, the guides may not allow you to board, no matter what you sign or say, due to safety concerns and equipment use.
What Are The Pick-Up Times For Transportation To And From Kualoa Ranch?

Transportation is optional and may be added for $30 per person. Morning pick-up times are from 6:50 am to 7:15 am and mid-morning from 10:00 am to 10:30 am. Departure times from Kualoa Ranch to Waikīkī hotels are at 1:00 pm, 2:30 pm, 2:45 pm, and 3:45 pm from the Kualoa Visitor Center. Ride time is typically about 45 minutes to 1 hour, depending on traffic.

Can I use international drivers license to drive the UTV?

Yes, an international driver's license is accepted for driving the UTV. Local age restrictions still apply.
What is the difference between a 2 hr and 3 hr utv ride?

The 2-hour UTV trip is where each party has their own UTV (up to 4 people) and follow a guide as you drive around the valley, stopping at various points. The 3-hour UTV tour is a private experience where you do not drive the vehicle. This guided tour takes you to all the best sites around the valley where you will be entertained with stories as your guide gives you more personalized attention.
What happens if multiple passengers book a private tour? Do you get to drive on a private tour?

A private UTV tour is a personalized exploration of the ranch with a guide driving the entire time. Bookings of 5 guests and more will include a second UTV and a second guide who drives the UTV.
Is a driver provided on this tour?

A guide and driver are provided on the 3-hour private tour. You can have a driver on a shared ATV for the 2-hour tour if requested.
