A Gorgeous Day On The Water

Sailing in Hawaiʻian waters is a completely different experience from sailing anywhere else. Experience the tranquil trade winds encircling the archipelago, creating ideal and uninterrupted sailing conditions. Sail On A High-tech Racing Yacht

Our yacht was built by Lidgard Yachts of New Zealand out of Kauri wood in 1992. Gung Ho is a beautiful, 36-foot racing monohull and was built to race. This incredible vessel went on to win the prestigious international regatta, The Kenwood Cup out of Waikīkī. After the race Gung Ho was sold, and began her life in Hawaiʻi. Since 2016, we have been operating private sailing charters on Maui. Our owner and Captain is honored to share his passion for sailing with a larger community through these uplifting and intimate private day sails.

This 36-foot monohull sailboat is locally owned by a renowned international sailor. Our Captains are passionate lifelong sailors who thoroughly enjoy sailing on Maui with guests. We provide private sailing and snorkeling experiences for up to 6 people. Whether you want to go on a relaxing sunset sail, or improve your knowledge of a performance sail, our crew is committed to providing the best sailing experience possible. The owner has a lifetime of experience cruising, and racing boats of all sizes.

Come aboard the beautiful 36′ GungHo and experience real sailing for people of all stripes. This private charter offers tours with a heavy focus on the experience of actually sailing. Our modern ship is handled by life-long Captains, who will show you what sailing in Hawaiʻi is all about.

We will custom tailor a day on the water for you and your group during your Maui vacation. See amazing views of the shoreline as we sail the calm seas around this beautiful island. Keep an eye out for marine life like dolphins, whales, and flying fish.

All trips include non-alcoholic drinks and clients are welcome to bring their own alcoholic beverages and food. GungHo has refrigeration to keep your refreshments nice and cool.

Customers may rebook or receive a full refund with at least 72 hours’ notice. Customers may also rebook or receive a full refund in case of operator cancellation due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances. Contact us by phone to rebook or inquire about a cancellation. No-shows will be charged the full price.

What if the weather is bad?

We want your experience to be fun and relaxing. If the weather conditions are too stormy or rough, we will offer to reschedule your trip.
Is there a bathroom onboard?

Yes we do have a bathroom (head) on this modern 36-foot sailboat.
What should I wear?

Loose, comfortable clothing. Sandals or slip-off shoes. Bring a light jacket, hat, sunglasses and sunscreen.
Can we bring our own drinks and food?

Sure! We do have refrigeration on board to keep food and drinks cool.
