Instructions

Proof of open water certification and higher
Been diving within the past 2 years. If you have been dry for over 2 years a successful checkout dive must be completed before joining the dive group on your next charter. See our friends at Kona Shore Divers to complete your check-out dive
You must be in good health with NO heart conditions
You must be able to converse in English
You must dive with a computer
You must be able to dive in a group and not need more attention than what is usually provided on a guided dive
You must remember there are other guests onboard that are looking for a premium experience so our standards MUST be met. Kindly be a responsible and considerate diver
We require divers 12 – 17 years old to dive with a parent or guardian
We are unable to accommodate Junior Open Water divers aged 10-11 at this time

Where do we check in?

You will meet directly at the boat in the marina. Electronic waivers must be signed prior to your arrival at the boat. Refer to your confirmation email for directions.
What should I bring?

It is recommended to bring a hat, sunglasses, towel, and a sweatshirt or jacket. Please ensure that your sunscreen is reef-safe. If your sunscreen contains any benzones it is harmful to our reefs. Please do NOT use it if you are getting in the ocean. We use, sell, and recommend Stream2Sea.
What will I see diving on the Kona Coast?

The Kailua-Kona coast is one of the most popular diving spots in the world. With its clear blue waters, abundant marine life, and dramatic volcanic landscape, it’s no wonder that divers flock to this idyllic spot. The coast is known for many varieties of endemic tropical fish, formations from old lava flows, and hard corals. You may also encounter dolphins, eagle rays, turtles, eels, sharks, and manta rays.
Where Should I Check in For This Tour?

Certified divers and snorkelers shall meet directly at our boat in the Honokohau marina. Before you board the boat, you must fill out an electronic waiver. For directions and further information, see your confirmation email.

Is it Customary to Leave a Tip for the Crew?

Although tips aren't required, it is customary to tip your guides and boat crew. An average tip is $10 per tank, though more is always appreciated for excellent service and aloha.
What Are the Requirements for This Dive?
The Black Water Night Dive is for experienced divers only. All divers must be SSI, SDI, NAUI, or PADI certified, and they must carry dive insurance. Divers must also meet the following criteria:
- Minimum of 50 logged dives
- The last dive must have happened within the last 6 months
- Good health with no heart conditions
- Ability to converse in English
- Consideration for other divers and the environment
